Why it is important to encourage one another

Consider a vehicle running without fuel. Could this vehicle ever achieve what it was created to achieve? It is true that encouragement is the fuel that powers our engines as we go!  We often get caught in the net of despair, yet no net can entangle an encouraged soul. Because of this, it is so important for us to speak words of life in in the lives of the people we interact with.

One thing I have learnt and it’s that some of the most beautiful smiles hide some of the most hurting hearts. Some people try their very best to cover up the pain they travel with, yet this does not take away their need. Imagine the thirst you will quench with words like “Don’t Give Up,” or, “God is at work!” What if you remind your brother that he is more than enough, or your sister that she has all that it takes. You might not realize how deep these words can go, yet it’s for you to speak them for them to go.

The Harvest is ripe but the labourers are few

You might wonder what I mean by “The harvest is ripe but the labourers are few.” The phrase comes from a Biblical event long ago. As Jesus watched a multitude, the Bible says He was moved with compassion. His compassion stemmed from the hopelessness he saw in the crowd. The Bible says that they were like a sheep without a shepherd. There and then Jesus said;

“The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few." Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

If we look among us, we will see that the amount of people who are spiritually sick way outnumber the ones that are spiritually whole.   It is very obvious that we live in an utterly broken world. Our children are broken, our mothers and fathers are broken too, and even our grandparents can’t seem to rest well. If you look long enough, and deep enough, you’ll see the diversities of perplexities that our people go through. Yet in the midst of all of this, encouraging words can make music to our ears.

Couldn’t we also say “the harvest is plenty but the labourers are few?” Now more than ever we need encouragers as labourers, and  motivators as friends. Given the great harvest we see, we need people who are armored with good news, that will alleviate and obliterate the pain in the crowds.

Be encouraged as you encourage.

When I say “we all need a little encouragement,” I mean that the encourager needs an encourager too. One of the most common thing among us is that we all travel with at least a little bit of brokenness. The thing is, it’s because we have need why we are broken. If we were self sufficient then we wouldn’t have a need, yet our need is at times very great. Hear these words, “you have what it takes!” I am fully confident for you, because I know the human potential. We are the handiwork of God, made in His image to do good things. Can anything or any device prevent us from doing the good things of God?

Be encouraged as you encourage. Remember that the same fuel that you give away is being given back to you. Consider the greatness of God, that even the natural things that He created, like the wind and the trees, will encourage us and give us strength to go on. Don’t you think that God will sustain you too? Don’t faint, because you are stronger than you can imagine. Remember that if you deny your strength, you are denying God’s Great strength. Rest in Him, and be encouraged as you go!

Time To Decide: indecision never produces greatness

In this video you will learn that today is the day to decide to be what God has created you to be.

We all can be encouragers

It is quite beautiful that we all can be encouragers. In our own little ways, we can all be a source of strength for one another. I once knew a man who would always say “Don’t worry, don’t worry, tell somebody else don’t worry.” At that time I was working in a very difficult job, and these words would often encourage me to go on. After that I left without him knowing how much these words impacted me, yet he did his part, which was to speak them.

Imagine if we all speak in our own little way. Maybe you are student, or you are a mother, or whoever you are, imagine if we all spoke in confidence, our encouraging words. I believe we all could be encouraged.

I love to encourage people, and that’s why I get up early in the morning to write. You might get up to do something else. Maybe you get up to prepare breakfast for your family, or you get up to go to work. It really doesn’t matter why we get up, we can all encourage one another by our words and our acts of kindness. In our own little capacity, we can all be that fuel that fuels one another.

10 Scriptures that speak about encouragement

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.

Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved

It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.

Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Conclusion

As we rap up, I want to once more encourage you to go on. I speak to you on the basis that you are God’s child and you can achieve whatever you have set out to achieve. I want to remind you that you are God’s offspring, made in the image of God to do good works. I want to also implore you to be persistent as you do your good works unto God, and be faithful in your efforts. The seeds you sow are the seeds that grow. God bless you, and be encourage to go on!
