It is Powerful To Decide To Never Give Up

It's powerful to decide to never give up. By doing this, we give ourselves the assurance that we will keep going no matter how hard life gets.

I often sit and remember the free spirit I had when I was a young boy growing up in the countryside of Trelawny.  Life was not always easy, but lt was a beautiful time to be alive. I remember my teenage years started getting more and more difficult, until adolescence, where the struggles became real. Looking back, I can understand with the phase I was going through. It was a season of self discovery. At that time, I remember making the commitment to myself, that no matter how hard life got I would never give up.

As a young adult I migrated to canada and Life at this point became much more difficult than I expected. This was to the point of even wishing I wasn’t alive at times. Yet each time I wanted to quit, the decision I made when I was younger kept ringing in my ears. Quitting was not an option because of this decision I made to myself. I didn’t even know the power of the decision I made, until the time came to test its validity. Hard times came, and because of this decision I made, I constantly became better and more resolute.

Consider the power of a decision. Because I decided to endure, I endured. I believed I had what it took to endure, and I also knew I had the capacity to develop the skills necessary to be an overcomer. In fact, God already made me an overcomer, and now as I look back, I can see I just needed to discover that person.

What does it mean to never give up

Consider the man who is going down the wrong road. This man is so convinced that he is going the right way, yet he does not see that this doesn’t lead him to his destination. I would never encourage this man to ‘Never Give Up.’ When I say ‘Never Give Up,’ I’m directing it to people who walk in their Godly destiny.

God Sustains Us In Our Decisions

I must admit that it is not by my own abilities, nor is it by ingenuity, but it is through the help of God that we can ever stick to our commitments. The decision to not give up can only be honored by the faith we hold to in Christ. It is the cry of faith from our lives that will appease the grace of heaven. This is because the human being is so weak and so vulnerable, yet the power of God within him makes him strong. With God we can do anything and everything. In the book of Jeremiah, we find the story of Jeremiah and read about how he wanted to quit preaching the WORD of God. The Bible recalls that the Word of God stood in Jeremiah as a fire shut up in his bones. Jeremiah was compelled to keep on preaching. For Jeremiah, It is the Word of God that kept him in his purpose.

If I say, “I will not mention him, or speak any more in his name,” there is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I am weary with holding it in, and I cannot.

There was no boast on Jeremiah’s end, unless he was boasting about the power of God that kept him keeping on. All Jeremiah found was the Word burning a lantern within him to keep the light awake. The good news is that with God, our lanterns will burn, because of a fact, the oil of our lamp is the WORD of God.

Encouraging Scriptures to help us in our decision to never give up

There are scriptures that will help us in the most difficult times. Scriptures that will not only fill us with power, but also fill us with peace. The following are some Bible verses that you can use to encourage you to go on. It is true that the Light of the WORD of GOD can never go out.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

I can do all things through [a]Christ who strengthens me.

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."

14 The Lord is my strength and my defense ; he has become my salvation. 15 Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous: "The Lord's right hand has done mighty things! 16 The Lord's right hand is lifted high; the Lord's right hand has done mighty things!"

I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come?2 My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness,

“Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.’”

“For we live by faith, not by sight.”

Conclusion

It is important to know the power of the decisions we make. What is even more powerful is the decision we make in faith. Amidst the battles we endure, and the journeys we trod along, we can endure if we decide to. If we decide that no matter how hard life gets, or how insurmountable our paths may seem, that we will never give up, then we will never give up. Even in the most difficult times, we will remember our decisions and God will enable us to endure. It might seem difficult for us, but with God all things are possible. May you be blessed along your way, and I pray you commit to the purpose of God, and however hard life gets, that you will stand firm, and that you will never give up.
