The mind is its own place and, in itself can make a heaven of hell or a hell of heaven.” – John Milton
One of my favourite activity is gardening. I grew up along the mountainous terrains of the Jamaican countryside, and one thing I definitely saw was farming. I also went on to attend an agricultural college in Portland (CASE), where I fell in love all over again. The major reason I like gardening is because of how close it brings me to the earth, and how much it helps me to focus on the Spirit. I also love how I am able to train the plants, and nourish then in order to achieve a desired outcome. In order to have the best yield, and the most flourishing plants, a fertile and abundant soil I have found are most necessary.
One thing I have learnt over the years and it’s that a garden with fertile soil will produce the most healthy plants. I compare the mind to the soil. An abundant life requires a rich, powerful and healthy mind. If we consider long enough, we will realize that our problems are only illusions of our minds. Most of our problems only exist in our minds, and can and will be changed with the changing of our minds. Our lives go in the direction of what is going on in our minds. If we perceive the problem to be a problem, then for sure it will be a problem. If on the other hand we see our difficulties as opportunities to become better, and as strategically placed by God, then they will no longer be problems, but channels for growth.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
