Unlocking Productivity: 5 Essential Morning Habits for a Successful Day

There are essential morning habits that will help us to have a productive and fulfilling day.  I have discovered that there is something very special about morning time. One thing I love to do is drive to my Grandma. I love this because I use to leave very early in the morning and drive into the morning sun. This way I got to experience the peace and tranquility of morning time. Morning represents the beginning of a new day filled with new hope and new opportunities.

The morning sun is so soothing that it can take your stress away. I remember how the sun would bask on my face as I tasted the fresh air. The tune of the morning is so glorious that we have to pay special attention to it. Perhaps that is why the bible says “joy comes in the morning.”

Each morning we get another reason to give thanks because we get the opportunity to see a new day.

Morning Time Often Dictates Our Day

Morning time is so powerful that it will dictate the rest of our day. Often when I wake in the morning I say a prayer like this “God please help me to have a wonderful day,” or affirm something like this “I am going to have a wonderful day.” When I do this I always have a better day. What you say to yourself and do in the morning will have the most effect on your day.

This is why I want to share with you 5 essential morning habits that will help you to have a productive day. These habits will jumpstart your day with the attitude of a winner. They will also help you to be a greater blessing to the world.

I hope that they will help you to be more productive. Please also share them with someone you think they can help.

5 Essential Morning Habits for a Successful Day

"The morning is a blank canvas; it is whatever you make out of it. Start with a masterpiece."

1. Prayer and Meditation: Beginning with Gratitude

In the morning, our first breath of fresh air is enough reason to give thanks. This is a sign that we are alive and our senses are working. We must start our day with the spirit of gratitude. As we do this we welcome a positive day ahead.

Regardless of our circumstances the Bible says that we should give thanks in all situations. This might sound unrealistic, especially when we face the most difficult situations. But we must give thanks regardless of circumstances, because difficult roads can lead us to the most wonderful places.

Morning time comes with a sense of freshness. The spirit of the morning is so calm that meditation and reflection is easy. This is also a time when prayer can be most wonderful. Back in Jamaica our mothers often got up before the dawn of day to pray. They knew something about the ambiance of the morning.

Starting your day with gratitude will pave the way for a great day. We must give thanks for the blessing to be alive.

2. Eat a healthy breakfast

As we consider essential morning habits, eating health is very important. I was speaking to my friend the other day. We were talking about breakfast and how important it is to start off the day. My Brother Jermaine James was saying that he realized that breakfast is a very essential part of the day.

Breakfast provides the body with the necessary nutrients and calories to kickstart your metabolism and give you the energy you need to start your day. It replenishes the glucose levels in your body, which are essential for brain and muscle function.

When we eat a healthy breakfast this will give us wings to fly into our day. There have been many times when I skipped breakfast and I have found that it is better not to. When I eat healthy in the morning I am energized to have a productive day.

3. Exercising the body and the mind

On thing I always use to do is get up early in the morning to have my devotions and to pray. There was also a time when I was too lazy to get up to do this activity. When I compare both instances I can say that you should get up early in the morning to pray. I say this because I have found that this spiritual breakfast is a needed boost for the day.

It is also a good thing to do physical exercises in the morning. This is like the warming up activity that athletes do. It releases our muscles after slumber and energize them to challenge the day.

According the the World Health Organization there are numerous benefits to physical exercise. Regular exercise helps prevent and manage noncommunicable diseases such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes and several cancers. It also helps prevent hypertension, maintain healthy body weight and can improve mental health, quality of life and well-being.

As a result of the many benefits of exercise, we must make it a regular part of our morning routine. This will greatly enhance our productivity.

4. Essential Morning Habits : Positive Affirmations to self

There are positive things we can say to ourselves that can boost our productivity. These positive affirmations are key nutrients to a healthy spiritual diet. I find that when I affirm positive things in my spirit they enhance my mood and affect the course of my day.

When we practice positive affirmations in the morning they can be much more effective. Maybe it’s because our attention span is elevated in at this time or probably our spirits are most calm to receive them. Whatever the cause, it is true that there are positive affirmations we should be reciting daily that will add great value to our lives.

5. Planning and Goal Setting: Prepare for a Productive Day

Planning is the foundation of getting anything done. As we start our days it is important to plan what we want to achieve in it. This not only saves us time but it also makes the process more efficient. It also makes our lives much more ready for productivity.

As you rise in the morning, take some time to plan your day ahead.

The Bible say;

The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty.

This tells us that as we are diligent in planning our efforts will turn into abundance.
