After Moses died, Joshua was tasked with the role of leading Israel to the promised land. God said to Him, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go – Joshua 1:9.” 

God wanted to motivate Joshua to complete this assignment of His. My favourite part of this verse is “For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Consider how important this encouragement was to Joshua.

This scripture is not only encouragement for Joshua but we too can find solace in these healing words. The Bible says that all scripture are inspired by God and can profit us in doctrine, for reproof, correction, and righteousness. This is to help us to do the good works of God.

1. 2. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

3. Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

11. Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

24. “But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.”

26. The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I will praise Him.

27. I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? 2 My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.

28. "Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength."

29. He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength.

30. The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills.

31. Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.

32. Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
